ezprompter Privacy Policy

Summary. ezprompter is a teleprompter for Mac, iPhone and Apple Watch. It has no user accounts, and the developer does not collect, receive, or sell your personal data. Your scripts, recordings and settings stay on your devices, except when you choose to send something to a third-party service you set up.
Your voice, camera and recordings
The prompter follows your voice with Apple's on-device speech recognition. Audio is processed on your device and is never sent to the developer or to any server. Camera and microphone are used only for practice takes and recordings you start; recordings are saved on your device.
What stays on your device
Scripts, research projects, recordings, take reports, practice statistics, your answers to the setup questions shown on first launch, and app settings. API keys you enter are kept in the Keychain, never in plain files or logs.
iCloud
A few settings (such as your AI provider, model, speech language and speaking pace) sync between your own devices through iCloud, and API keys sync through iCloud Keychain, both under your Apple Account and Apple's privacy policy. The developer has no access to either.
Third-party services (only when you use them)
AI writing. With Apple Intelligence, scripts are written on your device. If you choose a cloud provider with your own API key (for example Anthropic, OpenAI, Google Gemini, OpenRouter, xAI, DeepSeek, Groq or Mistral), the text you ask it to work on, such as your notes or the sources you add, is sent to that provider using your key, under their privacy policy.
Read-aloud voices. If you choose a cloud voice (such as ElevenLabs, Google or Sarvam) with your own key, the lines being read are sent to that service. The built-in voices run on your device.
Research and imports. When you research a topic, your search words go to the search service you have enabled (such as DuckDuckGo, Wikipedia, Brave Search or Tavily). Importing a link downloads that page from its website.
Calendar. If you allow it, Prep reads upcoming events on your device to spot talks and recordings. Calendar data is not sent anywhere unless you ask a cloud AI provider to draft a script for an event.
The app also downloads a public list of available AI models. That request contains no personal data.
Between your devices
Pairing your iPhone or Apple Watch with your Mac is optional. Remote control, scripts and shared links travel directly between your devices over your network, encrypted end to end. The Mac's optional agent server, for AI tools like Claude Code, listens only on that Mac.
Purchases
Subscriptions, free trials and the lifetime purchase are handled by Apple through the App Store, under Apple's privacy policy. The developer never sees your payment details, name or email address; the app only checks with Apple whether your purchase is active. Manage or cancel a subscription in your Apple Account settings.
Analytics & tracking
None. ezprompter contains no analytics, advertising or tracking.
Your control
Delete scripts and recordings in the app or in Finder, remove API keys in Settings, or delete the app to remove its local data. Because the developer holds none of your data, there is nothing for us to export or delete, but you can ask questions or make GDPR/CCPA requests at [email protected].
