Owlish (formerly Kekasatori) turns what you want to learn into something you remember. Paste a link, drop a PDF or record a lecture, and it becomes a study pack: a clean reader, notes, flashcards, a quiz, and a tutor that answers from your material.
See Owlish →What it does
- Bring anything: YouTube videos and playlists, web articles saved offline, arXiv / PubMed / DOI papers and PDFs, books, and lectures recorded on iPhone.
- Study packs: transcripts, summaries, notes, key concepts, flashcards, quizzes, mock tests and mind maps made from the source.
- A grounded tutor: answers come from the material itself (retrieval). Apple Intelligence on device, or your own key with the provider you choose.
- Think it through: a whiteboard beside the reader, podcasts, slides, printable practice tests, and math animations.
- Share it: write about what you learned and publish to your own website.
- Local-first and private: no account, no tracking; your library and keys stay on your devices.
Stack
SwiftUI + MVVM on SwiftData, shared models between the Mac and iOS apps. On-device generation uses Apple’s Foundation Models; cloud models go through an OpenAI-compatible client with keys held only in the Keychain. Retrieval uses on-device embeddings. yt-dlp and ffmpeg ship as bundled, signed binaries. The Mac app updates through Sparkle; the phone and Mac talk over an end-to-end encrypted local link.
